Looking for extra protection against cavities? A professional fluoride treatment at daily DENTAL & bracesbar can help reduce risks.
How Cavities Attack Your Teeth
When we eat food, a few particles get trapped in our teeth or between the teeth and gum line. Oral bacteria feed on the sugars in the food and release a corrosive acid that attacks tooth enamel. In the absence of regular brushing and flossing, these bacteria form a sticky, clear film called ‘plaque’ on our teeth.
The acid wears down tooth enamel and eventually forms a cavity. Left untreated, the cavity may travel down to the gingivae or gum tissue and spread under your gums.
Regular dental exams and cleanings can eliminate plaque and tartar (hardened plaque). Fluoride treatments can give added protection against bacterial attacks.
Factors That May Increase the Risk of Caries
Certain patients may be at higher risk of cavities due to genetic factors or lifestyle.
Some important factors that may increase the risk of cavities include:
- Poor oral hygiene including inadequate brushing and flossing
- Eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia
- Alcohol or drug abuse
- Decreased salivary flow (our saliva contains enzymes that fight bacteria)
- Exposed tooth root surfaces
- Irregular dental checkups and cleaning

Professional Fluoride Treatment Near You
Fluoride is a mineral that is known to prevent cavities and remineralize the tooth during early stages of decay. The fluoride concentration that we use professionally is much stronger than the ones you find in toothpastes or in stores. However, you can feel confident that we ensure 100% safe application of the fluoride rinse, gel or foam.
Our dentist will apply fluoride treatment using a cotton swab or brush. Alternately, we may place the fluoride in the form of a rinse and bathe the patient’s teeth in it for a few minutes. Once the treatment is over, you may be asked not to eat or drink anything for at least 30 minutes to an hour.
